What does it mean to say, "God loves us?" It means that he wants the very best for us. Rest for our souls, peace in our hearts, forgiveness for our sin and purpose for living capture some of God's goals for us. He wants us to experience these things in the context of a relationship. God wants us to trust him. The Bible calls this "having faith" or "believing." Trust is the basis of relationship.
