Mission and Vision

Cedar Grove Community Church exists to reach people for Jesus, teach people to be like Jesus, and release people to serve Jesus.
To understand this, let’s break it down into sections.
- Reach people for Jesus: This means bringing the message of God’s saving grace through his son Jesus to redeem people forever. It not only means introducing the gospel to seekers, but is also a reminder to believers of the duty and delight of following Him.
- Teach people to be like Jesus: This is the active participation in our spiritual growth, as we learn to imitate Christ and to live like Him.
- Release people to serve Jesus: As we mature in Christ, a natural response is a desire to serve God by using our gifts to serve others.
Cedar Grove’s passion is to love God above all else and to care for others before ourselves. We live in a society that pulls us in different directions, but the Bible is clear on our purpose: to give God our hope, trust and love, and to demonstrate that by living for Him and loving others.
God Himself modeled love for us when He gave us a precious and life-changing gift: His son, Jesus Christ, who came to earth, taught us how to live in a radical new way, died in our place to restore our relationship with God, and came back to life, showing us that He was more than a man, and giving us hope for life after death.
Because of this, we celebrate Jesus in everything we do. Our church life, as a group and individually, is a celebration of the gift of Jesus. It is what we live by and love to tell others about. It allows us to live in a way that pleases God and to rely on His strength for everyday living. At Cedar Grove, it is our example and guiding passion.
This celebration is too important to keep to ourselves. Our vision is to share God’s love and Jesus’ gift with our community, and with the world beyond.
As part of the family of God, we will develop CGCC as a Christ-centered, Bible teaching church by strengthening existing ministries and launching additional congregations of praying people focused on fulfilling the mission of the church in Livermore and around the world.
